What a year 2009 has been!
To keep with my thematic calendars, I started back at January pictures. Sweet goodness, we still had a baby then!
Georgia had taken her first steps before Christmas and January meant she was really learning to get places. She had short dark hair. She looked like her Daddy. She wore 12-18 month clothes. She started swimming lessons. She was a paci lover.
At the beginnning of February she still looked like a baby but by her birthday at the end of the month, a little girl was appearing. As spring came on, her hair began to grow, people finally started saying she looked like Mama, and no matter who she resembled most, there was no denying she was growing up.
By summer she was throwing away trash, let me throw her paci's away, and asked to go to the pool every day.
This fall her imagination started developing and nothing was limited to its intended purpose.
As winter came on, she was finally surrounded by extended family and developed her first crush on her friend Kendall's daddy.
Makes me realize that in 2008 she was such a presence in our home, lives, and hearts. By 2009 she was a person sharing them!
We are and forever will be grateful for the blessing of this happy, healthy little girl. She has been our greatest joy, our most needed medicine, and the source of our biggest grins this year. She gives us a purpose beyond ourselves and a drive to live with passion.
As we close the year, she is hovering around 30 lbs., still tall for her age, has had three haircuts, and wears mostly 3T clothes. She is an expert stair climber, a good jumper, quite a singer, and learning her letters with zest. Sharing isn't the most fun thing in the world, but playing with cousins sure is. She usually needs three servings of oatmeal for breakfast and won't turn away any cracker offered.
When I sit down next Christmas to make my calendars, I'll likely look back at 2010 and both laugh and gasp. Maybe even cry at the milestones. Whatever awaits us, it sure is good to know Who holds each and every day!
