Dear Kate and Wills,
You two are a striking couple with a splendid royal story. Wills, your parents' wedding was before my time but I watched it on tape when I was a girl. It is so exciting to have a real prince and princess marrying in my lifetime and you can count me in on watching you exchange nuptials. Which brings me to the reason for my letter.
Several months ago my daughter read The Reluctant Flower Girl. She decided she needed to be a flower girl and is not at all reluctant to perform the wedding dress shopping, flower sprinkling, and wedding ring rescuing duties required of the position. In short, she is eager.
She's waited patiently for an opportunity, but she's had no prospects. It hasn't put a damper on her intentions.
This morning while watching The Today Show on NBC, she selected your wedding to be a part of. Thought I should pass this along and let you know she wears a 4T dress, size 9 shoes, and will have her bangs sufficiently grown out by the end of April. (Sizes, please note, are American).
My understanding is your wedding party will be on the younger side. If, per chance, you already have a flower girl you deem up to the job, I could adequately convince her that being a bridesmaid is good, too.
As parents, we understand you have royal expectations for all involved and are happy to oblige any finishing school type training necessary for her Westminster Abbey walk. Just send over an Airbus and we'll get her to England.
Finally, should there be any concern about her Swedish surname, we're fine with her taking my English maiden name for the program. I'm quite certain the British and Swedes have always been on good terms, but you know how those royal watchers can be about small details.
Many thanks for rescuing me from a awkward local Craigslist posting entitled "Please let my daughter be your flower girl" and for making a little girl's dream come true,
Courtney
