Then the heat wave struck. We looked at the temperature predictions of 107 and happily got busy reworking our plans. We opted for an overnight trip in the family car to an inn, on the beach, with the toddler in tow.
We've made a lot of memories at the coast and it was fun to tease each other and tell stories about our trips. We showed Georgia where we got engaged and where we ate afterwards and the infamous stretch of 26 where years before Noah wanted to talk seriously about us and I tried to keep his attention on the trees. I'm glad he didn't give up that easily!
The weather was just what we needed--cool but not windy. We saw the sun but were fine with the clouds and fog, too. It was oddly bizarre to be wearing jeans and fleece and drinking mochas when we knew how HoT it was back home and knowing we still had hot days ahead.
We shopped, walked through the little towns, played on the beach, and loved the getaway to celebrate our life and family!
